The Invention of Gunpowder

Thesis:

Gunpowder is a compound of charcoal, potassium nitrate, and sulfur that was created in Ancient China. An alchemist attempted to make the Elixir of Life in 850 AD, but ended up making gunpowder. It was first used for fireworks and then for weaponry, and eventually spread worldwide. Gunpowder broke barriers because it was the first known explosive compound, changing the types of weapons people used.
